I’m so happy to have you here with me! A little bit about myself: my name is Kamila Hammad, and I am the founder of the Melabug Blog. My vision for this blog is to create a space where I can talk about my lifestyle as a Christian. The Melabug is a place where I can talk about the things I am learning that may help those around me; fitness and health, because God intended for us to honor Him with our bodies, so it is a good habit to take care of them, and also a place to talk about fashion, because I LOVE shopping. If I could go shopping every day, I would, but I would need an infinite closet and infinite money, which unfortunately do not exist. But that’s okay! Everything in moderation, right? Lol.
Anyways, I just graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University with a Bachelor’s in Business Marketing and concentration on Product and Brand Management. I graduated in 3 years and have been using this extra year so far to explore my passions and hobbies. I would love if I could get a job where I can learn more about digital marketing, but I am teaching myself a lot of these tech-savvy skills since I did not do much of it during my time in University. Don’t get me wrong, I learned A LOT! But, I would have liked to dive deeper into these skills I now wish I had. But there’s a first for everything, and I believe that if you are determined and have a positive mindset, you can achieve many great things in life. It just takes consistency and discipline. That’s kind of how I am treating this blog. I have always loved to write. Journaling, reading, writing, and, of course, daydreaming have always been hobbies of mine. I’ve always had a journal since I was a little girl, it was only until now that I realized I can create a business out of it. Now I am starting to wonder if I should have majored in Journalism? Eh, too late. Marketing is something I learned to love because of the creativity and limitless applications of it. I love seeing the perspectives of others and creating projects on building a product or a campaign that connects with people. That’s why I am really excited about this blog, because I can connect with many other believers (or non-believers, too!) out there who also love all these things! I know it may look like a lot, but it will all be organized in categories once they are posted! Honestly, I just love learning. I love growing and gaining new skills. I truly believe that the way that we think about ourselves and the world around us has the power to change our lives. I don’t know who may be out there reading this right now, but I just want to tell you, don’t limit yourself! It doesn’t matter what you are good at or bad at, do the thing that has been on your heart and take the risk! I was never good at math and being super book smart but yet I graduated Magna Cum Laude with a 3.7 GPA in 3 years as a business major which was a lot of math. I got a better GPA in college than I did in high school, and it wasn’t because I magically became book smart, NO! I struggled and had to push myself to achieve the goals that I wanted. I dedicated myself to the things that intimidated me because THAT’S where you grow! You will never grow where you are comfortable, so step out. I know it’s scary, but you are capable of doing hard things because you are not alone. The Lord is your strength, and He will never leave you nor forsake you.
